Columbia Hardwood Floors
Columbia Hardwood Floors is another company that has not been sitting on
their hands in the recent economic downturn. The most notable changes since our last update are the additions of character type hardwood floors. Character floors provide more color variation and natural appearances, or something many are seeking today. An increased emphasis on wider plank floors exist but none exceed five inches wide.
One bright area lies in the distressed collection or as the company calls character hardwood floors. A unique idea is revealed in that most of these choices can be obtained either in their solid form or engineered. We can’t count the number of times a consumer falls for one color but the installation specifications prevent it. With this collection there’s no saying no and hoping to find something similar.
Price wise, low budget engineered hardwoods still remain. Compared to others, standard oaks can be obtained at slightly higher prices. On the milling side of things it’s unfortunate Columbia hasn’t progressed into offering longer lengths particularly in their engineered. We find it common that all products are stuck in nine inch to 48 range.
Unfinished hardwood, sanded and finished on site is another product line worth considering with Columbia.
Consult with local dealers on this one.
