Pinnacle Hardwood Floor Installation
3/8" or 7/16" Engineered - Americana, Centennial Plank, Old Town Classics, Mountain Lodge Classics, and Village Square Classics
Each 3/8" (9.5mm) or 7/16"(11mm) thick board is quality crafted for installation ON, ABOVE or BELOW GRADE, using either glue or staple down methods. Micro-beveled side edges and ends create long lengths for a more elegant look in any room.
These collections carry a 10 year limited finish warranty for residential applications, and a lifetime structural warranty (see Manufacturer’s Warranty for complete details). Featuring Pinnacle’s AMCERIC® finish system, these floors offer an advanced technological coating which provides superior abrasion resistance and assures easy floor care; simply vacuum regularly and clean with an approved hardwood flooring cleaner.
These floors may experience changes in color when exposed to light for extended periods of time. Color changes may be more dramatic in certain species. Large area rugs and furniture should be repositioned frequently to maintain an even coloration of the floor.
NOTE:
Indentations will occur in all wood flooring, and are not considered a defect. The uniform grain structure of Maple flooring may cause the indentations to appear more noticeable in that species.

1/2" Engineered - Country Classics, Estate Classics, and Plantation Classics
These floors are engineered products, and as such have little expansion or contraction capability. This unique structural ability permits versatility in selecting the direction the floor can be installed and increases choices in creating designs. Whenever possible, install planks perpendicular to joists for maximum strength. This stability also allows planks to be installed against walls, sliding glass doors, cabinetry and fireplaces. In floors more than 20 feet in either direction, leave a 1/2" expansion space on side and end perimeters. This space will be covered with molding after the completion of the installation.
All wood subfloors and concrete slabs must be visually inspected for moisture. Concrete slabs determined to be "dry" at the time of installation, may be determined to be "wet" at a later date or different time of year, and may be deemed unacceptable. All concrete slabs must have a minimum of 6-mil polyethylene film moisture barrier between the concrete and the ground.

3/4" Federal Strip & Plank
General Information
1. It is the installation contractor’s responsibility to inspect the job site conditions prior to the installation of the flooring. The installation contractor must ensure that the job site’s ambient humidity and the subfloor moisture content are within an acceptable range. All wet work at the job site must be complete and dry (i.e. painting, drywall and ceilings) and concrete subfloors must be completely cured and flat.
2. Installation contractors will assume all responsibility for the final inspection of all flooring prior to installation of the product. The examination of flooring for defects, color and finish must be completed prior to installation. Should a quality defect exist, the contractor should contact the flooring seller immediately. DO NOT INSTALL ANY DEFECTIVE OR QUESTIONABLE PRODUCT. When ordering hardwood flooring, 5% should be added to the exact square footage required to ensure for sufficient cutting waste and normal industry grading cull.

All wood subfloors and concrete slabs must be tested for moisture content prior to hardwood flooring installation. Wood subfloor moisture content must not exceed 12% using a wood moisture meter. Concrete subfloors should be checked for moisture using a Tramex concrete moisture meter (readings should not exceed 4.2%) or a calcium chloride test (the maximum moisture transfer must not exceed 2.7 lbs. per 1000 square feet). A "dry" concrete slab, as defined by these tests, can be determined to be "wet" at a later time or at a different time of year and thus
unacceptable.
ALL CONCRETE SLABS MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6-MIL POLYETHYLENE FILM MOISTURE BARRIER BETWEEN THE CONCRETE AND THE GROUND.
NOTE: It is very important to check that all concrete slabs, as well as any other recommended subfloor, be dry, flat and clean. The installation contractor accepts all responsibility for the subfloor acceptability, including job site humidity and moisture content levels upon beginning the installation of product.
Installation of the planks should be parallel to the longest or dominant wall to ensure optimum visual appearance, unless a diagonal installation is desired.
The installer should stagger the end joints of the planks at least 6 to 8" on adjacent rows, resulting in a visually pleasing and structurally sound installation. Racking the floor is essential to achieve a random appearance. Always work from several cartons of flooring at the same time to insure a good blend of color and wood grain throughout the floor. Start by cutting four or five planks in random lengths differing by at least 12". As you work across the floor, be sure to maintain a 6 - 8" minimum between end joints on all adjacent rows. Randomly install different lengths to avoid a patterned appearance. The end cuts from starter rows may be used at the opposite side of the room to complete rows, or to start the next row.
